"If a green or sustainable economy can be defined as a system which preserves the ecosystem’s productive capacity, while creating a society where the basic human needs of all individuals are met, which, of course, also means equality between men and woman, and bearing in mind that the imbalance between women and men in decision making in politics and the economy is huge, countries should take all appropriate measures to achieve a gender balance. Given that women and men have different consumption patterns due to different gender roles and contribute to environmental pressures in different ways, and that this different consumption behaviour is part of creating and strengthening our gender identity, I am voting in favour of the proposal."@en1
