"A green or sustainable economy is a system which preserves ecosystems’ productive capacity, while creating a society where everyone’s basic human needs are met. Equal participation in politics and the green economy is essential to ensure that women’s interests are considered in the same way as men’s.
The current economic system does not take into account the fact that natural resources are limited. Production and consumption generate emissions and pollutants which will end up, sooner or later, in our ecosystem. The ability of ecosystems to absorb and manage emissions, and adapt to changing circumstances is finite. Once the absolute limit is reached, important services provided by the ecosystem are in danger of disappearing. I think that to avoid such a scenario, we need to switch to an economic system where the pace of natural resource extraction promotes recovery and the production of new resources."@en1
