lpv:translated text	"I voted in favour of this proposal because tax evasion and tax avoidance cost the governments of the European Union a significant amount in uncollected revenues. Revenue losses increase the deficit and debt levels of the different Member States. Cooperation between Members States’ tax systems is increasingly desirable in order to further reduce the possibility of unintended non-taxation, double taxation or tax avoidance fraud among the Member States, which does even more damage to the smooth functioning of the EU’s internal market. It is essential to combat tax fraud and tax evasion. The proposal is aimed at excluding any possibility of tax evasion, substitution of taxes or any illegitimate tax exemptions. Moreover, it is necessary to take appropriate measures in order not to preclude Member States from combating tax fraud, tax evasion and abuse."@en1
