lpv:translated text	"I am voting for this report because, four years after the outbreak of the financial, economic and social crisis, it is crucial to understand clearly where the Member States are heading, taking into account all the possible solutions to get Europe back on track for growth and development. First, it is essential to create and engage in new common policies, which will help us to be united and strong enough to avoid crises in the future. Second, in times as hard as these, we also have to rethink our existing policies and commitments, and we need to test them, where necessary, to see if they are still up-to-date and adequate for facing the challenges ahead. The Council directive on a common system of taxation applicable to interest and royalty payments made between associated companies of the different Member States has been amended several times in recent years, but there are still some technical refinements to make. As stated in the Commission statement, these are intended to improve clarity and accountability."@en1
