This electronic system for information exchange enables national, regional and local authorities to exchange information with the relevant bodies in other countries quickly and simply. The system reduces the administrative burden and helps Member States to cooperate as effectively and efficiently as possible. Currently, IMI is being used to implement provisions on administrative cooperation in the Professional Qualifications Directive and the Services Directive, but it is important for its use to be extended in future to include more areas of legislation."@en1
