I welcome the proposal to establish the office of Vice-President of the Court of Justice because the President’s workload has increased considerably with time and I believe that it would therefore be useful to appoint a Vice-President who could assist him in carrying out his duties. I agree that in order to increase the capacity of the Chamber, the structure of the Grand Chamber needs to be changed and the number of judges that compose the Grand Chamber needs to be increased to 15. In order to enable the General Court to address the issue of the ever increasing number of unprocessed cases, which has grown from 787 in 2000 to 1 300 in 2010, it is essential to increase the number of General Court judges. I welcome the proposal to increase the number of judges by 12."@en1
