I voted for this text, in which Parliament calls for the universal right of European citizens to have a basic bank account to be recognised, in order to address this issue. Every individual should effectively be able to open an account and carry out banking transactions, albeit simple ones such as the payment of wages into an account or the withdrawal of money.
