"The ACTA is a highly controversial international agreement. The objections against this agreement, which we have been hearing for some months, are based solely on concerns about attempts to introduce Internet censorship. Concerns about the agreement are motivated primarily by fears that there is a risk of ‘filtering’ freedom and democracy on line. It is worth noting that, on the one hand, the ACTA is meant to protect intellectual property rights while, on the other, this agreement would severely restrict freedom on the Internet. For this reason, I decided to vote against in today’s vote."@en1
