"Ms Castex, you are, of course, right. For example, we have adopted Mr Creutzmann’s report today in Parliament with a broad majority which concerns enforcing intellectual property rights on our European borders. All the groups agree that we need a reform of intellectual property in the European Union. This is a very good reason not to vote against the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) tomorrow, but instead to delay the vote until the Court of Justice of the European Union has reached a decision, the Commission has done its homework and we, together with the other institutions, have reformed intellectual property in Europe. There are good reasons for postponing the vote. Then, in two years’ time, when all of this has been completed, we can calmly consider whether you want to oppose or accept ACTA, possibly together with us. However, please let us do it then and not tomorrow."@en1
