lpv:translated text	"I welcome the result of today’s vote on the report on the trade aspects of the Eastern partnership. During my many years in politics, I have had occasion to be involved in cross-border cooperation in Poland’s relations with Belarus and Ukraine. I have also been able to see the mutual benefits of this cooperation, and they are not just political and economic benefits, because they are also – if not primarily – social benefits. Forging closer economic relations with Eastern partnership countries by creating free trade areas can, in the long term, facilitate effective implementation of EU foreign policy and help consolidate the European model of democracy and the economy. However, building closer economic relations in a way which offers benefits to both sides should not be done without attaching conditions. Therefore, making specific recommendations to the EU’s neighbours referred to in the document will allow comprehensive aid programmes to be put in place and lasting relations to be built with credible partners who are conscious of our clearly defined expectations."@en1
