"The eCall system, the result of a European initiative, will allow rapid assistance to be provided to citizens who suffer road accidents on the territory of the European Union. This project aims to install a device in all vehicles that automatically calls 112 in case of a serious road accident or activation of the airbag. This new device will allow 2 500 lives to be saved each year and considerably reduce the number of injuries. At a time when the new technologies are proving to be a major factor in improving road safety, I voted in favour of this report."@en1
