In order for this to happen, the vehicle must be equipped with the eCall service. eCall does not prevent accidents, but it does make the emergency services more effective. I voted for this report, as I believe that installing the eCall service should be mandatory and should not be based or made conditional on the existence of a positive business case for the standalone eCall service, as its benefits for society as a whole should also be considered."@en1
