"In recent years, water has become a strategic asset, and access to sources of water has taken on geostrategic significance. We cannot rule out the possibility that in the future, disputes over water in some regions of the world may lead to war. Tensions in this area are already being felt between Israel and Palestine and between Turkey and Syria, for example. Therefore, I welcome the European Parliament resolution on water. The scientific advice is that many regions in Poland are going to have problems with water, so it is very important that we manage our water well. I hope this resolution will persuade the Commission to agree to allocate more funds to hydrotechnical projects, and particularly to dual-purpose projects."@en1
