"I voted in favour of the report on insurance and reinsurance (Solvency II). The insurance sector is currently experiencing legal uncertainty as a result of the discrepancy between the legal system of the European Union (Solvency II) and that of the Member States (Solvency I). This report is in line with a desire to regulate and monitor European insurance companies. Thus, the establishment of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority would enable us to improve the solidity of this sector."@en1
