Any infringement of these rights, including by means of plagiarism, is intellectual theft and must be sanctioned. The enforcement of IPR is vital for ensuring proper benefits and protecting new ideas and all the more important in the context of increasing piracy and counterfeiting. Customs practices aim at preventing illegal actions. Therefore, I, too, would like to emphasise the need to consolidate the enforcement of intellectual property rights through the revision of the regulation in force. It is time to adopt new rules that take into account economic trends and the practical issues arising from the implementation of this regulation."@en1
