"This motion for a resolution was tabled following a Commission statement pursuant to Rule 110(2) of the Rules of Procedure, and concerns ‘a job-rich recovery’. The measures taken by the Member States to combat the crisis have led to thousands of job losses and have thrown millions of workers into unemployment. Unemployment rates have never been so high, in particular in countries with financial assistance programmes, and among young people, hitting 50% in Spain. The average unemployment rate in the EU is over 10%. As such, measures to combat this scourge need to be adopted as a matter of urgency, in order to promote growth and employment. I welcome the adoption of this set of measures to stimulate growth, for which I voted. In particular, these are set to facilitate access to financing by small and medium-sized enterprises, increase workers’ mobility, support the integration of young people into the labour market, promote the creation of green jobs and construct a more inclusive society. I hope that these measures will be transposed to the legislation of the Member States so as not to disappoint the European public’s expectations, which have now been raised."@en1
