"Mr President, the rules on the labelling of the contents of baby milk and foodstuffs for people with special health problems should be tighter and better defined in order to protect consumers. It should be noted that, with this type of food, misleading labelling can harm the health of consumers. Stricter regulation is therefore appropriate. Its task is not to deprive a person of choice, but to ensure that his choice is based on clear, comprehensible and accurate information. I therefore think that advertising for these foods should meet the higher ethical standards. Stringent controls of compliance with them should be in the natural interest of the producers themselves. I welcome this report and applaud the professional approach of the rapporteur, Ms Ries."@en1
