lpv:translated text	"In the vote on the report on the EU Special Representative for Human Rights, I was firmly in favour of establishing this position because I consider the protection of human rights to be a fundamental part of the EU’s work. The special representative should concentrate on areas which particularly need help from the EU in terms of protecting people. The report on the EU Special Representative for Human Rights stresses that while implementing his or her mandate, the EUSR for HR should cooperate with representatives of local, regional and national civil society, non-governmental organisations, experts and regional and international organisations working in the field of the protection of human rights and democracy. Finding the right partners for dialogue is particularly important in view of the fact that the EUSR for HR is going to have to call for respect for human rights in undemocratic countries in particular. The European Parliament has already appealed several times for the appointment of a special representative for human rights, and I welcome the fact that this matter is finally coming to a conclusion."@en1
