Following the extension of the EBRD’s mandate to operate in the Mediterranean countries, we will have another instrument with which the EU will contribute to the realisation of these societies’ expectations. The experience gained by the EBRD while working in the transition period in Eastern European and Central Asian countries is valuable and can be adapted by establishing priority areas of action and the main risk. Particular attention should be paid to transparency, sustainability, promoting equal opportunities and reducing social exclusion."@en1
