It is an own-initiative report in response to the Commission’s communication in 2011 on critical information infrastructure protection (CIIP), which assesses and describes the next steps. Through this own-initiative report, the European Parliament is calling for Internet protection measures and, in particular, the prevention of cyber attacks and the resilience of the global network.
