lpv:translated text	"I voted in favour of this document because nowadays, with the increasing use of the Internet and computer-based technologies, the security of the Internet stands as one of the highest political priorities for the European Union and the rest of the world. The increasing use and deployment of innovative technologies, such as fast and ultra-fast fixed and mobile Internet and cellular networks, smart grids, but also Internet services, such as cloud computing and the Internet of Things, all rely on one simple, but crucial aspect – security, resilience and trust. It becomes obvious that the Internet is a critical infrastructure, and that Internet disruption might lead to substantial losses and security risks, affecting a very large number of European citizens and businesses. Furthermore, the rapid development of technology requires that prevention of the Internet attacks, remedial reactions and the resilience of the global net should be based on a comprehensive, reactive, flexible, innovative and long-term framework. This framework needs to assure an efficient interaction between governments, businesses, individuals and all other stakeholders. Last but not least, increased resilience of the Internet is only possible when an efficient system of international cooperation and international norms is in place."@en1
