"I voted for the Kalfin report on critical information infrastructure protection. The exponential growth of the Internet has now made it an essential part of everyday life for citizens and for economic activity. It is therefore essential that the European Union places digital strategy at the heart of its political priorities. The report clearly sets out the crucial issue of cybersecurity. With this in mind, Parliament, quite rightly, calls for the introduction of a system of international cooperation and norms, as well as the development of a comprehensive, reactive, flexible, innovative and long-term framework to ensure efficient interaction between different users of the Internet and to establish a system for the notification of security breaches in critical sectors. It was also with these aims in mind that I became a member of the special parliamentary committee on organised crime, corruption and money laundering."@en1
