lpv:translated text	"I am voting for this report because, although Latin America is one of the European Union’s largest trading partners and a recipient of EU financial aid through the development cooperation instrument, the reality is that extreme poverty still exists in Latin America, where approximately 180 million people live below the poverty line. However, I take a favourable view of this report’s efforts to step up the EU presence in Latin America and the redirection of aid policy. I also think there is a need for customised cooperation; cooperation that is based on each country’s situation and on cross-border indicators. We need to strengthen development cooperation policy, encouraging and reinforcing regional South-South cooperation."@en1
