lpv:translated text	"I would like to explain my vote on the report on the Commission proposal for the mobilisation of the EGF to provide technical assistance. Firstly, the Commission’s proposal complies with Article 8 of the regulation establishing the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund. In spite of this, however, the proposal was blocked by a minority in the Council, as a result of which the Danish Presidency drafted a compromise proposal with a figure of EUR 730 000, which is equivalent to the Commission’s average expenditure in previous years. I believe that adopting the Presidency’s proposal is a sensible way to mobilise funds rapidly in order to implement the measures planned by the Commission, in particular, the programme evaluation which is vitally important in the context of the debate surrounding the programme’s future. In addition, I think it is significant that the Council has called for steps to be taken as soon as possible to extend the derogation and to enable support to be granted under the EGF for workers made redundant as a result of the crisis."@en1
