lpv:translated text	"The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) was created in 2006 in order to provide additional assistance to workers affected by the consequences of significant changes in the structure of international trade and to assist in their reintegration into the labour market. Since 1 May 2009, the scope of the EGF has been expanded to include support for workers made redundant as a direct consequence of the economic, financial and social crisis. Regulation (EC) No 1927/2006 also provides that 0.35% of the maximum amount of the EGF can be made available each year for technical assistance at the initiative of the Commission. I therefore voted for this report on the Commission’s request that EUR 730 000 be mobilised from the EGF in order to cover its administrative needs for monitoring the collection of data on applications received and paid, information regarding updating and enlarging the EGF website, the creation of a knowledge base with a view to setting up standardised procedures for EGF applications, administrative and technical support, and the evaluation of the EGF."@en1
