In this instance, Spain submitted an application to mobilise the EGF in respect of redundancies in 146 enterprises involved in the manufacture of leather and related products in the region of Valenciana. The footwear sector represents 26% of the total employment in the region of Valenciana and is therefore an important contributor to the local economy, which is dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises in traditional sectors like textiles, shoes and ceramics. It has been established that this application complies with the requirements for determining the financial contributions as laid down in Article 10 of Regulation (EC) No 1927/2006. The Commission, therefore, proposed to mobilise an amount of EUR 1 631 565."@en1
