lpv:translated text	"The new legislation aims to introduce more stringent rules in order to ensure the recovery of bluefin tuna in the eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean. It provides for a reduction in the Total Allowable Catch and the reinforcing of control measures. In November 2010, in Paris, the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) amended its multiannual recovery plan for the eastern stock of bluefin tuna. As the EU is a contracting party to ICCAT, it is obliged to transpose those amendments into EU law. It is the Commission’s proposal to that end that is the subject of the present report."@en1
