"Colleagues, before voting, I would like to point out that today is the anniversary of a tragic event. Twenty years ago, on 23 May 1992, the anti-mafia judge Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Morvillo and their bodyguards Vito Schifani, Rocco Dicillo and Antonio Montinaro died in the Capaci massacre. This morning, a ceremony commemorating mafia victims was held in Palermo, attended by President Giorgio Napolitano and Prime Minister Mario Monti.
I would ask the House to join in this commemoration to honour the example and commitment shown by Judge Falcone, and to honour the memory of all those who have died in the fight for truth and justice."@en1
