Thanks to this initiative, the citizen is put at the centre of the European decision-making process. 1 million citizens, from at least seven Member States of the EU, can ask the European Commission to make a legislative proposal. I am in favour of the report since the legislative initiative, if well developed, is a real democratic tool.
