At first there was talk of withdrawing one cent coins and now the debate has begun on changing EUR 1 and EUR 2 coins to banknotes. The proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament aims to demonstrate how the change from EUR 1 and EUR 2 coins to banknotes could have a positive effect on the real economy.
