"We Swedish Social Democrats voted in favour of the report on the European Union’s internal security strategy because we support its main message, which is that the security strategy must focus on the areas where EU cooperation brings clear added value, while at the same time respecting subsidiarity.
Paragraph 19 refers to the development of a European judicial culture. We agree that we need to increase levels of mutual trust between the Member States with regard to judicial issues. However, we believe that this should be achieved primarily by raising the fundamental and procedural rights in the Member States to a uniform level and not by creating an overall European judicial culture.
We do not support increased links between the common security and defence policy (CSDP) and the activities in the area of justice and home affairs (JHA). In addition, we are not in favour of greater cooperation between the EU and NATO."@en1
