We need a balanced debate and one that will, first and foremost, help Ukraine and its population come closer to the EU, that is, help them come closer by one road or another, to their European dream. Ms Roithová, my question is as follows: you have referred to legislation which allows abuse and which puts prosecutors, courts and so on in a situation that is not consistent with our standards. However, did the government led by Ms Tymoshenko do anything to change the legislation on the basis of which it ruled the country, the very same legislation that was in force during the Stalin era? Allow me to make one final remark: it was wrong to lock up Ms Tymoshenko and the way she is being treated in Ukraine is also wrong."@en1
