I understand Mr Rinaldi’s position, but I do not share his enthusiastically positive stance on the outcomes of the so-called Arab Spring. I do not agree on his call for the creation of a free trade area with the countries of North Africa, which would seriously damage our textiles industry and agriculture, which have already been hampered by an unprecedented crisis. Lastly, I do not approve of the general tone of the report, which focuses exclusively on protecting and promoting the interests of the other party, while completely forgetting to refer to and defend legitimate EU trading interests. It seems more like a report by the Committee on Development than one by the Committee on International Trade."@en1
