lpv:translated text	"I voted for the report on the European Union trade and investment strategy for the Southern Mediterranean following the Arab Spring revolutions. The European Union is using this report to send a strong signal of its support for the democratic aspirations expressed by the peoples of the Southern Mediterranean. At the same time, I would like to highlight that some EU Member States have not yet ratified the amendments to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Agreement. Considering the experience the bank has gained in Eastern and Southern Europe and the beneficial impact it could have in the Southern Mediterranean as well, I think that the decision to extend the EBRD’s mandate to the Southern Mediterranean needs to be ratified urgently by all EU Member States."@en1
