"By voting in favour of this report, I wish to affirm that Europe exists to serve its citizens. Until now, roaming tariffs have been much more expensive than the price of domestic communications, for no good reason. The new EU regulation puts an end to these unfair tariffs by imposing price caps and enabling consumers to choose an operator other than their national operator for roaming services. This regulation represents a great leap forward for European citizens, who will now have more control over their mobile phone bill."@en1
