"I voted in favour of this document because I believe that a high level of environmental protection is a prerequisite for guaranteeing the quality of life and preserving the stability of ecosystems. The protection of our environment enhances quality of life by halting the loss of biodiversity and ensuring better water quality and less noise pollution. Such protection also contributes to job creation and growth, and ensures the well-being of present and future generations. The forthcoming 7th Environment Action Programme will ultimately provide a clear and ambitious vision for 2050, in order to offer a long-term perspective to all stakeholders."@en1
