"As an ecologist, I can only vote against an additional budget of EUR 650 million for ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) for 2012 alone. This project, which is very centralised and focused on production, is a real financial abyss while the budget situation in Europe is serious. This increase is taking money away from other much more useful energy sectors such as renewable energy. In the light of the environmental and economic challenges that we must face up to, we must urgently put a stop to ITER financing."@en1
