lpv:translated text	"I voted for the report by Ms Thyssen from the Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats), which supports the introduction of a Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base (CCCTB). The aim is to help companies by harmonising the internal market. For example, it aims to cut down on red tape (companies will only have a uniform tax return to fill in for all their activities in the European Union and will only have to deal with the tax authority of the country in which their headquarters is located), and to reduce the costs arising from complying with 27 diverse tax systems, and so on. It will also make the EU more attractive to foreign investors by offering a single tax system. We went further than the Commission’s proposal by planning for this tax to become obligatory after five years for all companies, with the exception of small and medium-sized enterprises for which it would remain optional because we must protect them from any additional cost."@en1
