As part of this common effort, the exchange of information, particularly in terms of airlines that operate EU-US flights transferring passenger name records (PNRs), serves the purpose of combating the threat to international peace and security. PNR data can only be processed to prevent, detect, and repress acts of terrorism and serious forms of cross-border crime. Moreover, data are only kept for a limited time, dissemination of information from PNRs is subject to legal restrictions, and the ‘push’ method for exporting data is considered the normal means of transfer. I therefore voted in favour."@en1
