lpv:spoken text	"I voted with my Liberal group in rejecting this agreement as a matter of principle. While the Commissioner and the rapporteur Sophie in ’t Veld worked extremely hard to secure a better agreement, it still fails to meet the minimum safeguards to citizens that we as representatives of European citizens must demand. Particularly the agreement fails to offer sufficiently strict limitations on the use of data, disproportionate retention periods and inadequate judicial redress. I understand concerns some have expressed about having no agreement on the sharing of data attached to Passenger Name Records with the United States. It is my opinion that no agreement would have been a better option than signing up to a bad agreement."@en1
