". −
I support the Voluntary Partnership Agreement between the EU and the Central African Republic on forest law enforcement because I believe it can bring a real contribution to the development of this African country, supporting a highly important economic sector such as forestry, which accounts for 4% of the country’s GDP and 40% of its export revenues. Moreover, 60% of Central African timber is exported to Europe.
As with the agreement with the Republic of Liberia, I support the aims of this agreement and believe it can be beneficial to all the parties involved. The EU, for example, can count on the commitment of the Central African Republic to trade only in verified legal timber products into the EU."@en1
