Azerbaijan, in fact, plays an important role in the context of the European Union’s Eastern Partnership, which provides the political framework for strengthening bilateral relations, taking into account mutual benefits and the EU’s strategic interest in the stability and democratic development of the region. Furthermore, it has become an important energy supplier for the EU as well as an important transit country for energy resources from Central Asia in particular. Finally, Azerbaijan is making progress in shared values and principles such as democracy, the rule of law, good governance and respect for human rights."@en1
