Although, geographically, they are far from the EU Member States, the outermost regions (ORs) are very important economically. EU cohesion policy is aimed at promoting the economic development of these regions and their convergence with the EU mainland. I believe that the EU’s rules and programmes should be applied in the same way throughout the territory of the EU.
