"Almost three years ago, the European Council gave a commitment to the Irish people that they would address their concerns regarding the Lisbon Treaty to safeguard the right to life, family, education, taxation and security and defence. This proposal represents the culmination of that promise. I therefore welcome its adoption, and its eventual ratification alongside the Croatian accession treaty."@en1
