"I voted in favour of Ms Vălean’s report because I consider it to be a very important report on the part of the Committee on Petitions. At a time when people are voicing doubts about the European institutions and the citizens of the European Union are showing a great deal of mistrust in its efficacy, we need a report that proves that the voice and concerns of European citizens are being heard. The EU needs to prove that freedom of movement is not a theoretical right and I am delighted that the report takes issue with certain cases of infringement (rights of family members in Britain, recognition of study diplomas in other countries and so forth) and calls for immediate action to address them."@en1
