lpv:translated text	"After the Committee presentation of the 2010 annual report of the European Investment Bank, the European Parliament’s Committee on Budgetary Control drafted an own-initiative report on the EIB’s activities in 2010. The report welcomes the efforts made by the bank in 2010, which helped complete and reinforce the European Union’s support and development policies. It must be noted, however, that the bank must take further steps to ensure more transparent and efficient operation, and there is also a need to further increase support to small and medium-sized enterprises, as they represent the driving force of the European economy. Having been the rapporteur for the report on the EIB’s activities in 2008, I support this report, and I believe that since the bank finances several key EU projects as well as SMEs, it is particularly important to monitor its activities and facilitate the performance of its activities as efficiently as possible and by generating as much European added value as possible."@en1
