During this profound crisis that we have been experiencing since 2008, and with the constant calls for budget cuts, I believe that it is right to revise the position of the European Treaties on the three seats of the European Parliament. It would, in fact, be difficult to explain to the European public a position other than the one I have decided to take. Having voted for the report on the revision of Parliament’s expenditure, I hope that our resolution (adopted by a majority of 429 votes to just 184) can unblock this situation, which, after all these years, is no longer sustainable."@en1
