Mr de Magistris considers it altogether proper to inform Italian citizens about court documents and, in this case, the documents were not covered by any confidentiality provisions. This happened after Mr de Magistris had become a Member of the European Parliament. The Committee on Legal Affairs concluded that Mr de Magistris was acting in the performance of his duties as a Member of the European Parliament, and has therefore decided to defend the privileges and immunities of Mr de Magistris.
