lpv:translated text	"The proposal for a regulation to enhance the fight against organised crime is extremely important for the security and safety of European citizens and supports one of the main objectives of the European Union, namely, to create an area of freedom, security and justice without internal borders, in which crime is prevented and combated. For this reason precisely, I believe that setting up a special committee on organised crime, corruption and money laundering will enable the European Union to forestall and counter these threats, including at national and international level. The responsibilities of this committee will include the analysis and evaluation of current implementation of Union legislation in this field in order to ensure that Union law and policies are evidence-based and supported by the best available threat assessments. This committee will also be responsible for examining and scrutinising the activities of the Union home affairs agencies working on matters relating to organised crime, corruption and money laundering, and related security policies."@en1
