"Mr President, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the country which suffered most as a result of the long war in the Balkans. It is still regularly troubled by domestic unrest, such as that caused by the intensification of Wahhabi extremism throughout the region. In view of the complicated power structure, the formation of a new government should be seen as grounds for optimism, while we should also encourage full implementation of the agreement made by political party leaders, including dialogue to ensure that budgetary procedures and essential reforms are carried out efficiently. In addition, Brussels’ commitment, as seen in its extension of the role of the Special Representative, allows us to help in efforts for progress on issues related to acceleration of the process of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to the Union. I would also like to express the hope that matters related to charges of war crimes and the elimination of terrorist threats will be settled. I also welcome the intensified efforts of the governments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia to resolve outstanding issues, including the extension of regional cooperation in the field of security. This is why I voted for adoption of the resolution."@en1
